I am replacing the 6 BTV with this antenna for low bands. 80 meters on the
6BTV has a way too narrow bandwidth. And, short verticals just don't cut it
for long haul in my experience. I could not work the YI9PSE on 80 with the
6BTV and 1 KW. I could barely hear them. It takes a lot more aluminum in the
air on low bands.
The 6BTV has worked OK on 40 and 30.
But I already use the HyGain AV-640 ( No radial antenna ) it is runs circles
around the 6BTV.
This new antenna will replace the 6BTV, the AV-640 and hopefully the MA160V
