That is not really a standard diameter, but 0.625 is. Aluminum tubing is
commonly available in two different alloys, 6061 and 6063. The later is
generally less expensive but may have a lower tensile strength, depending on
the heat treatment. Tubing is either be drawn or extruded. Drawn tubing
is more accurate and better for telescoping, but more expensive. You should
be able to find long pieces of tubing from a local aluminum supplier or from

What I have seen at Texas towers is in shorter sections than that.
