I have climbed up my mast about 4 feet. I made my own steps out of some 2 inch angle. I bolted and welded some bigger plates so I could install 4,yes 4, u clamps to bolt onto the mast. It sure feels a little nervous up on the mast but after a bit you just get to the task at hand. I welded some bolts to the ends of the angle so my foot wouldn't slip off. Be safe.
