I use the Tram-Browning cables all the time for ham and commercial work.
All my hf antennas are on the br-400 cable and you do need to be careful
preparing the cable for connectors but I have never had a failure. At my
shop I have used the br-400 cable on vhf and uhf applications on a 190'
tower including 2 MSR 2000 repeaters but not on 800mhz stuff (too lossy).
I personally feel that is a good buy and I get it from a warehouse
distributor so it is very cost effective for me. Never been a problem but I
do not use it on rotating antennas (too stiff) or on runs over 200'.
