I was just reading an old "Ham Radio" magazine that shows how to 'stress a
quad' using strong monofilament fishing line to tie the ends of the quad
together as well as using a piece out each end of the quad for two additional
points to tie the line. The result resembles a blimp shaped fishing line
figure that ties together the extremities of the quad together. The theory is
to help prevent movement and reduce damage during high wind and icing
conditions. Has anyone ever tried this? Any comments? The diagram is on page
40 of the September 1978 issue of Ham Radio.... regards from Ron VE4SR
