I was told this story by the owner of a 100' Rohn 45G tower who hired a
professional and well-known tower crew out of New Hampshire to dismantle the
aforementioned tower and he watched it while it was being taken down.
The tower hand went up the tower disconnecting the guys as he went up.
After a few minutes he wound up at the top of this 100' un-guyed tower. 45G
is STRONG tower but I would discourage anyone from doing this.
They started lowering the sections with a ginpole and 30 minutes it was
all on the ground.
A foolhardy endeavor or a safe tower construction technique? You wouldn't
catch me up there doing that under those circumstances. But that's just me.
Cheers & climb safe!
