When I climb, I use a fall arrest lanyard, and have a spare lanyard
clipped to the tower when I'm moving the fall arrest clip.
Makes for slow climbing, but I always have at least four on the tower,
and sometimes as many as six (four limbs, and two lanyards).
Seems like a fall-arrest lanyard, used while climbing, could have saved
the guy whose distraction by his friends honking caused a slip.
