Hi...I have 4 TH6's and have found that in addition to the insect problem, the screw that gronds the can over the trap to the element sometimes loosens up. You have to slide a trap end cover back to access it. It sometimes is necessary to put a larger sized sheet maetal screw in to be able to get it tight. another thing I once had happen that caused a similar problem to yours was that one of the clamps on a telescoping element section broke, so that the element piece was not tight in the mating element.
