Barry,
I think you have it right, 11.5 with the antenna pointed into the wind
(elements broadside), 4.1
with boom
broadside. The original post can be found in the archives, and I'm real sure
that's what it meant.
As far as which one:
If you have a rotator control system that will always keep the boom broadside
to the wind, and you
trust it to always do that, you might think about using the small number.
Otherwise, use the big one.
