There was a TH6-DX in 1965. It was designed by Howie Pabian at Hy-Gain
Electronics. A few years later it became the TH6DXX, after the new
boom-to-mast bracket was added. BTW, the TH7DX (designed in 1982) was
sometimes called a "TH7DXX" or "TH7DXS". Officially, it has always been
"TH7DX" on the manual and labels. Sales sometimes tacked on the "S" or "-S"
in price sheets to denote SS hardware. Some dealers also tacked this
disgusting "-S" on for some reason.
