Realize I am a bit late on this topic, but just got back from vacation with
XYL and kids.
I think it is very important to have a wife that is understanding about
this hobby. Allthough me and my XYL have been maried only 6 years(This
Friday). We have never had any problems over my ham radio stuff which
started AFTER we were married. No problems with towers, antennas, radios,
late nites, contesting, nothing!
I thought for sure I was gunna start a fight when i told her I wanted to go
on a trip halfway around the world to play in a contest.
WRONG! Her only questions was "Do you REALLY wanna go?"
After I returned from Macedonia back in April, she picked me up at the
airport and said "I am going with you next time!" 'nuff said. Am now
looking for a good time and place in the Caribbean, you guessed it, for
another contest.
Geez' you know this girl thing ain't near as bad as I thought when I was 8.
Glad to get to sleep in my own bed tonight!
