Hi Joe..You'd better reconsider quickly your decision not to light your
tower ( assumming it is above the required height ) Towers are not just
associated with airports, but are considered hazzards to navigation and
are placed on aeronautical charts. While generally, the minimum VFR
altitude is 500', the military is exempt from this rule. They often
practice what is called "sandblower flights", and the usual altitude
is 100' above ground level. Also, certain flights, such as cropdusting,
aerial photography, ect. are allowed lower altitudes.
