Take a look at the duel-band J-pole antenna that is in the ARRL
handbooks. Simple and cheap, and can be made at home.

Subject: [TowerTalk] VHF/UHF Antennas for Tower???????

I would like to put up a simple two meter or/and 440 meter antenna attach to
my tower.
I am not looking for gain or directional. But a simple antenna that can be
attach
to the side of my tower. The problem is where can I get a simple antenna?
Everything I have seen is directional.
Does a simple vertical antenna exists???
Thanks,
