At VA3SK, we will be installing a switchable "lazy sloper" for CQWW this
weekend (if the snow stops). This design has a middle feedpoint in each
dipole with the ends of the dipole at the top and approx 30ft from the
bottom of the tower.
Anyway, we've modelled this under AO and it will be 4 lazy slopers (80M)
that will come from top of the tower, out to the feedpoint and then back to
the tower. We will use phasing lines (switchable 150 phase degrees) to
control which direction will be active.
Has anyone compared this to a 4 square? AO tells us it is about 1 db less
forward gain than that of a 4 Square, but the take off angle is about 20
degrees. The top of the sloper will be at approx 110ft. I have the AO
antenna file if anyone want to look at it.
Comments??
