While waiting for permits and easements and all that stuff
for the crankup, I'm considering putting up a bit of 25G in the
middle of the back yard. I've been reading on the list all the
stuff about guys and was wondering about using some 40%
copper clad solid steel for the upper set so they may also be part
of an 80m antenna. 25G, 90', 20m quad on top (just enough
mast to bolt boom to), and TA33 at 60' or so as guys permit.
Upper guys will each be tuned to 80m CW portion so I
don't expect any problem with this and TA33 or Quad but
would love to hear if I'm wrong before embarking on a
wild goose chase for 80m antennas when the primary goal
is guys. Will use auger type anchors if I can get 'em in as soil
tests out at 3000lb sq foot.
