I have been using one on a 70 tower for about 6 years. I found that
mine worked best at about the 40 foot point. You don't have to put it
at the top of the tower for it to work. the tower is the antenna,
more so than the wire.

I tried putting one up this weekend. Could not get a decent SWR
anywhere. I tried adding length and subtracting length. Tried moving
the point where it attaches to the tower from 70 feet to 78 feet. I did
not try to move is lower. I tried changing the angle as well.
Tower is 78 feet tall with a 40-2cd at 90 feet and a C3 at 80 feet.
I started out with a 130 foot sloper.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Mike
