WHILE IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED BY ROHN, I HAVE RAISED
50 FT AT ONCE. WHAT I DID WAS TO USE A 50 FT. ROPE, TIE
ONE END AT 40 FT. TIE THE OTHER END AT 20 FT FROM THE
BOTTOM. AN EIGHT INCH PULLEY RATED AT 1000 LBS IS PUT
INSIDE THE 50 FT. ROPE. A 100 FT ROPE IS ATTACHED TO THE
PULLEY ON ONE END AND TO A VEHICLE ON THE OTHER. A
HOUSE WAS CONVIENIENT TO THROW THE PULL ROPE OVER.
THE SHINGLES WERE PROTECTED BY SCRAP CARPETING. THE
BASE IS ATTACHED TO A HINGE PLATE WHICH IS PROPERLY
BOLTED INTO THE RECOMMENDED CONCRETE BASE. THE GUY
WIRES MUST BE ATTACHED TO THE TOWER AND ANCHORS SET
BEFORE RAISING THE TOWER. WITH A MAN ON EACH WIRE AT
THE ANCHOR POINTS, THE TOWER MUST BE RAISED SLOWLY TO
PREVENT PULLING IT UP PAST VERTICLE. HINGE OR TOWER
DAMAGE WILL RESULT IF THIS OCCURS. IF A HOUSE IS'NT
HANDY A TEN FT. TOWER SECTION STANDING VERTICLE UNDER
THE PULL ROPE WILL HELP RAISE THE TOWER. ROHN 25 IS LIGHT
ENOUGH THAT A COUPLE OF MEN CAN HELP RAISE IT OFF THE
GROUND. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU PULL THE TOWER UP AT
TWO POINTS. THE PULLEY WILL ROLL UP THE 50 FT ROPE AS THE
TOWER COMES UP AND KEEP THE PULL DISTRIBUTED EQUALLY.
ATTACH THE GUYS. THE REST OF YOUR PLAN SOUNDS GOOD TO
ME. I REALIZE THIS IS MORE THAN YOU ASK FOR, BUT I KNOW
IT WILL WORK. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT, WILL DO IT AGAIN.
