Hi Gang:
I got the following from Charlie and George on 40 phone last night
about 0520.
The totals on 160 are 991 contacts plus 78 in the contest for a total
of 1069 contacts. About 100 are with Japanese amateurs. This is the
first V5-JA operation ever! They will try for more JA's and all other
callers this evening. They will be QRV from after dinner their time
through 0500 when the sun takes out 160 meter signals.
The high inverted V and two beverages will be taken down Tuesday
morning, 18 Feb 1997, then they depart for South Africa.
The gang will take down their tribander and K9AY 80 meter antenna
today. This will leave an antenna on 40 and maybe a wire dipole
somewhere else.
After the contest they got as far west as KH6AT and a number of US
sixes and sevens.
For the contesters and Jimmy Floyd: The totals, very raw, are 3300
contacts and 255 multipliers for a score around 2.55 million in the
multi-operator 2 transmitter category. Band by band breakdowns:
Band: 10 Number of contacts 100+/- Atlantic to Ohio
15 900+/-
20 900+
40 800+
80 500+/-
160 78
Other goodies worked on 160 include 9M2AX, YE0AX, VK6HD, VK6VZ, lots
of middle east and over 60 countries on top band.
QSL V5/W8UVZ via W8UVZ. QSL others via KY0A, now W0YG.
73 and good luck George K8GG
PS for Jimmy Floyd: pls send what scores you have to me at
george.guerin@kellogg.com this afternoon. Thank you.
