I am setting up a second station in our guest house for quick access in the
advent
of an emergency. The main shack is up the hill a few hundred feet that can
be awkward
in the event of snow or rain (I am in Oregon, after all). So I need a solid
HF
transceiver that won't lost its mind if the available voltage (emergency
power, remember!) drops below the ideal. (I had that problem with an IC706
) So, I
want a rig with an analog VFO. I love my OmniVIs but they do have
synthesized VFOs, etc. and are surely more difficult to troubleshoot.
Back some years ago I had a B-series Omni-D. It would do the job, but is
getting quite dated for 2013. I have an analog Argosy that I will be
using if
I cannot find someone who will let a Corsair II go to a new and loving
home.
Items I don't need or want: filters, power supply, external VFO,
fast-acting
breaker (have one!), etc. It doesn't have to be pretty or pristine, just
an
electrically nice Corsair II. I would prefer one that doesn't need the PTO
rebuilt immediately.
