Hello,
The Socorro NM. club anchored their Field Day with my TT Corsair II and
Corsair. We tried my IC-7200 but could not get the keyer to work. Another vote
for some good old radios. Simple to use and always work.

Subject: [TenTec] Just an observation
Hi guys - Just a brief observation... Stopped out to the local radio
club Field Day site... and lo and behold ... they had three big rigs set
up. A Yaesu FT-10000, an TEN-TEC ORION II, AND A TT OMNI VI - the two
TEN-TEC stations were complete with TT power supplies, speakers, a TT
tuner, and the like. Man it was a beautiful site...I mean sight...
either way works I guess, but it was a proud day.
One of the guys complained the Orion II sounded like crap. I told him
you cannot set it up like a Yae-com-wood. They said somebody who did
not know the rig had messed around with the menu settings and had it
sounding funny. I recommended they do a refresh re-boot and restore
the factory default settings, and start over - rather than debug what
they had done. Hope this was good advice...
We use an Orion II, a pair of Omni VIIs, and an Omni VI at our contest
station... and nobody every complains.
But it looked seeing all that TT gear out there !
Happy trails and good DX to ya.
