I recently bought a used Orion I after not having an Orion for
many years and an quite pleased with the latest firmware and operation.
I really like the way the sweep display works now in that when you turn
the VFO the display freezes and you can tune to a signal of choice on
the screen. It's not as elaborate as some implementations of an internal
scope but I find it to be very useful.
My question is does the firmware on the Orion II offer the same
or similar capability? Does it have any other sweep display features in
addition to those of the Orion I? I would like to have the ability to
pick a display width as in the past.
Any word on the promised "High Speed Display" that was talked
about in years past??
I find I am really enjoying the Orion and am thinking seriously
of getting an Orion II and either trading this original Orion towards
one or selling it to buy one. I had forgotten how really nice the CW
operation (QSK in particular) works on the Orion.
