Hi All,
I too have owned more than one Corsair (or Corsair II). I'm not trolling
the list or looking to start a flame war on this subject. I'd just like to
comment that the units I have owned have all been stable enough that I've
used them (a LOT) in the digital modes like PSK for instance. After about
an hour (or a little more) of warmup, I have not had them drift any amount I
was able to notice. Sometimes I would just sit there for a long time and
listen to a couple stations ragchew on PSK and not have to retune. (And
yes, that is with the software AFC turned off, which is the way I usually
leave it since I don't want my station moving to other, very nearby signals
unless I really want to retune).
So, my comment is that I don't find them drifty at all. I'd wonder if there
were other issues at work on units which might have drifted. Not trying to
claim that they did not drift - just stating that drifting has not been a
normal feature of the units I have owned.
