This horse ain't dead yet . . . this started (I think) of a discussion of
which side to put the power supply on either an Omni V or Omni VI (the QST
test of the Omni V says stay away from the left side, OMNI VI doesn't
matter)
BUT!!!!
Looking in the back of my OMNI V owners manual, and apparently it had a
modification done in 1991 by TenTec
called, appropriately, The Paragon and Omni V A.C. Hum in Audio
Modification.
It eliminates a ground loop by insulating the sidetone oscillator board from
the rear panel of the transceiver.
