There might be some possibility...
Old version of RUFZ (CW rainer) did not support the sound card. Then
DL2OAP
wrote the following program to support
the sound card.
Put this in the wish list?
=======
RFZSOUND.EXE v1.3a by Thomas K”n, DL2OAP
(translated by DL4MM)
Introduction:
The software RUFZ by DL4MM is a
quit popular Contest- res. CW-training-
program. A certain disadvantage of this
program is, that sound-output is only
possible via the built-in PC-speaker and
the meanwhile very often used
soundcards are (still) not supported. A
hidden built-in speaker in a PC-tower-
case under the desktop makes it
difficult to copy higher speed and
not
everybody likes to connect a headphone
inside the computer. After discussions
with RUFZ-power-users there was the wish
to use a present soundcard.
In a "weekend-project" the following
described program RFZSOUND was written.
It bases completely on RUFZ, it just
replaces the speaker-procedures by own
procedures controlling the soundcard.
Program-Description:
To embed the new procedures, RFZSOUND.EXE
is searching for certain code
sequences inside RUFZ.EXE and replaces them
at two points by a call of two
software-interrupts (7EH and 7FH, usually
unused). The attached interrupt-
routines are part of RFZSOUND and
providing control of soundcard. After the
initialisation of soundcard modified RUFZ.EXE
will be re-started as a child-
process. After the end of RUFZ.EXE
all modifications are revoked. This means,
after the end of RFZSOUND the normal
RUFZ.EXE will be in original shape
and
can be used like before (in case
you are yearning to the sound of
a PC-
speaker). Please note - there are
absolutely no modifications on the timing
of
RUFZ ! The CW-speed is NOT
influenced. Also the different tone-frequencies
are
taken over correctly. ( All scores
with RFZSOUND are valid for RUFZ-Toplist
..
