I was involved in the decision on TB and wires. The classification was
designed for all band entry (tri-bander 10/15/20) and wires for 40, 80, and
160. Its still just in the WPX contest. I read thru my notes and don't see
anything about using it for single band. Most of us would be TB/Wires for
80 and 160.
I suggest Steve, K6AW should be consulted for later changes to the rules,
I have noticed several entries I know have tri-banders and a 2 el 40.
What about the Super SteppIR..its a 7 bander! 40, 30, 20, 17, 12, 10, 6
meters.
If we keep adding classes why not make domestic contests have a power limit
of 100 watts out. Back years ago if you ran over 150 watts input (not
Output) in the ARRL SS you lost as there was a power mult of 1.5 phone and
1.25 CW.
