Greetings from Colorado.
The G5RV is down. But the other wires survived the winter. No beams here, yet.
131 logs this year!!! THANKS to all who participated and sent in the logs.
I just updated the GQP web site for logs received. It is close to final, as
the deadline has passed. There may be a postal submission still on the way, or
an email log lost though. Also my usual typo rate means I have to go back and
count, proof read, and edit the list a couple times to get it perfect.
John and Jeff are sending the last of the postal submissions in the next few
days.
All but 5 of the email logs are already in the DB, and are ready for
"normalizing".
I am creating some neat tools for scoring work. These could be shared with the
Alabama folks if they wish for their fall party.
FYI:
Normalizing means:
Getting Mode down to CW and PH from CW, PH, SSB, USB, LSB, etc
Getting All the counties spelled right in abbreviated form
Getting Band entries to all match, as 7000 from 40, 7250, 7034, etc
Getting the Calls to a base form like NE4S from NE4S/M, NE4S/COBB, etc
Getting the point values entered for CW, PH.
Getting States all abbreviated right
Getting DX into the place where countries may have been entered.
Getting GA for the state for rovers where they (properly) have the county in
the exchange.
This all for each of the 19,000 Q's now in the Database.
Then Dupes, Mults, and scores can be done.
Most of the above is done by queries in the DB, some is just done by hand edits.
And, I have been saving the notes on GQP enhancements and changes in a separate
folder to review and work on when the score work is over. Those merit certs
and such... Thanks.
More later, and even a few more factiods, "After Scores".
73,
Mike, NE4S
Please use mrcne4s at attglobal.net as my address.
Be well,
Thanks
