Dave,
Did you go to device manager and verify the Com port assignment
after the upgrade to Win 10?
Win 10 does a fruit basket turnover of serial ports upon initial
upgrade. I have 5 serial ports in my setup and each of them changed
when I upgraded to Win 10, but have remained properly assigned
though several Win 10 releases.
If your USB2Serial adapter uses Prolific chip sets, all bets are
off. Mine uses FTDI and is working fine with generic Windows driver.
