Hi!
I went looking through my small collection of QSL cards, and had
a card from RX9SR for a QSO in April 2000. According to Dima's
card, it shows his oblast number as 167, QTH as Orenberg, and his
zone as 17 - the same zone as RW9WA's card that SM5FUG mentioned
yesterday. Other than the ink stamp that had his call and location
information and the handwritten QSO details, the card itself looks
like something left over from Soviet times. Unless he hasn't
bothered to replace that ink stamp or scribble a different zone
number on his cards, he must think he's in zone 17.
BTW I received this card direct from him, after sending my card
with a green stamp to him using his address as listed on both
QRZ.com and QRZ.ru. Using both English and Russian on those
envelopes seems to be a good way to get the cards to their
destinations instead of in the hands of a curious postal worker.
And it took less than 2 months round-trip, not bad for a card
from western Siberia.
Back to work - time to pay for two trips last month (one to San
Diego, the other to Vancouver BC) and one coming up at the end
of this month (across the border to Mexico for a long holiday
weekend). Have a nice weekend all, and 73!
