At our club station, W0MA, we use a Henry 4K. 1/2 power is 1500 watts. But there is no bandswitch, just two big knobs. You tune it like an antenna tuner. I would much prefer to have to solid state, auto band switching, no tune amp that will do 500 watts out then the Henry. The Henry hardly gets warm. At home I use a Drake L-7.
