I'm the last person to suggest the cause of a noise due to the symptoms because 
I believe it's easier to follow the symptom to the source first. However, if it 
is a 7 minute interval I would consider the humidity level and possibly a pump 
that pumps the water out of the basement from the HVAC drain.
