Hi Dave,
I just turned automatic frequency control on my SDR receiver to track the
change and have not observed a movement of more than 3 Hz in over a couple
minutes time but some of that could be on my end as I’m not GPSDO
locked, so I don't trust my own stability. Once in a while I do hear a
click in my audio when listening to the carrier (listening in AM mode)
which might be one of the observations you are making.
Based on my heading and Steve’s (N2IC) heading I would say the signal
originates down in North or South Carolina for starters but my heading was
taken very quickly and not out in the open as much as I would prefer. If
it's still on later tonight I will go out to an open field to get more
accurate heading.
