Do we really know it was K6CT?? :-) http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/comic-riffs/post/nobody-knows-youre-a-dog-as-iconic-internet-cartoon-turns-20-creator-peter-steiner-knows-the-joke-rings-as-relevant-as-ever/2013/07/31/73372600-f98d-11e2-8e84-c56731a202fb_blog.html 73, Steve W1SRD In the ARRL Contest Update for November 6, 2013 N0AX writes - "In the growing ranks of the remotes, this may be a record-setter. Tom K6CT lives in Solaris, Uruguay near Montevideo but logged in to one of the operating positions at K4VV in Virginia this past, weekend for the ARRL CW Sweepstakes. Operating as W4YY for which he is the trustee, he made a clean sweep at a distance of 8,323 km (5,171 miles). Your editor made a QSO with W4YY and had no idea the control operator was far, far away." On the internet, there is no "far, far away" - distance has no significance, there is no DX, there are no records to be set. 73, Paul EI5DI _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/cq-contest _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/cq-contest |
