CW reports are out so I was curious...
I never saw one of these reports before and am so glad we have them now
available!! Cant wait till at least the other big contests join the 21st
century of log-checking!!
One question regarding the log-checking/verifying process. Do I understand it
right that U-calls that cannot be cross-checked against a one-off-computer-
suggested log (for example because the questionable call did not send in a
log) remain in log, right?
Anyway, what happens to calls which are not unique but did not send in a log?
They remain as well, dont they?
Second Question:
Example:
807 N TI1C (255) N7TR(1) K2TR(2) N5TR(10)
By looking at my own UBN report I seem to understand the numbers behind N7TR,
K2TR and N5TR not as the number of stations who worked N7TR, K2TR or N5TR on
the particular band but on ALL bands (this comment is only true for "N" -
QSOs).
Question3
Can anybody explain to me what a U+1 call is (and where is the difference to a
U-call)?
>From looking at my UBN report I find that my main problem is not-in-log. Most
of those not-in-log QSOs will hopefully not be removed because there is nearly
always a one-off-suggestion in the log like df4ha or df4ia (most common
errors).
Can anybody with more experience tell me if this is normal on CW (I have not
seen any CW reports before).
Seems like I need to do something to have those people log my call more
accurately. My only 3 ideas are
- repeat call more often when conducting S&P QSOs (sigh)
- slow down more often (thought I did that already... )
- get louder
Any other suggestions?
while you might already be tired of everybody sending his UBN reprots to the
reflector I am attaching mine below to maybe explain better what I mean.
regarding the publication of UBN reports or logs I do not care if mine are
published but I think because of the various reasons already laid out by
vk5gn, ve4xt etc.. the decision should be in the hands of the entrant.
A trophy for "best accuracy" or the like seems a NICE IDEA to me.
Anyway, please consider that good accuracy seems to vary with QSO number.
As can be seen from KR2Qs article in CQ-CONTEST mar/97, AA2U achieved a 0.000
U+B rate with a QSO total of 664, while OH2MM achieved a U+B rate of 0.673
with 6391 QSOs. Both are leading low rates but in their respective classes
(class1: 500-999 QSOs, class7: 6000+ QSOs)
?Which one is better? is difficult to answer...
