Both Dave and Victor make great points. I have had this problem a couple
times in the 60 years i have been a ham. When the computer age came
along i found a great item . the 12 volt power supply fan . small enough
to fit into the bottom of most tube amps..if the tube sockets are not
enclosed in a duck for air flow i would mount one blowing across the
socket and tube pins.. have not had a overheating problem since. for the
couple i have that have air ducks i like Victor installed a larger
volume fan.. noise goes up but that is worth the price IMHO. also i have
installed delay ckts in the fans like my TL922A has to keep the fan
running for a min or two after you turn off power. this may be one of
the best ideals Kenwood came up with. 73 Tony WA4JQS
