good point, it might work if the contact damage is not bad, but if they are
badly pitted, very smooth contact file may be needed. Just go easy on the
silver plating. Ler us know if it worked.

just of the top of my head and I am sure there may be many other reasons,
I would first look at the relay and tried to clean the contacts. There
are contact cleaning files, but perhaps contact cleaner spray might be
tried first.

My AL-1200 has developed a T/R switching issue. In about 5 out of 10
transmissions the receive does not fully come back after releasing the
PTT,
A click of the mike button or a dot on the paddle brings the receive
