For at least a year, it's been an open secret that Elecraft is well along with
work on two models of high power amplifiers. It's rumored that one will run the
legal limit, the other will be 3 dB down. One or both will include a tuner.
Wayne
Burdick, N6KR, the principal designer, said a few days ago on the Elecraft list
that they are about to begin "field testing," and have lots of remote control
and
computer control capability, band sensing for popular transceivers, etc. I
haven't
heard whether these amps will run on 13.8V. I wouldn't be surprised to see them
at
Dayton this spring.
In the same email thread, Wayne indicated that their 440 transverter was close
to
being released (adding to their 50 MHz, 144 MHz, and 220 MHz units). It was
shown
at Pacificon in October. I own the 144 MHz and 220 MHz units.
