Rich, it is in my copy. Page 68 of the third printing,1978, under 4.3.2
What Makes a Tube Linear. Seems to me that was one of the points of the
book.

Tube Linear" refers to p.69, "Ideal grid-plate (anode) transfer curve for
class AB operation". After looking at the curves for a 3-500Z, it seems
to me that the 3-500Z does not have ideal transfer characteristics
because its emission begins to limit above the 1.2A-peak curve (c.400mA
avg) due to the emissive limit of its 75w filament.
Colin -- life would be easier on the AMPS group if you enabled the
