Hi Doug,
Welllll... from looking at the specs & photo it isn't a regulated
supply, just a switching inverter. Explains the poor ripple, and
regulation figures.
It appears that the upper right quadrant of the board is a field of
diodes... those could be replaced with just 4 modern devices.
And there doesn't appear to be any power factor correction -- fairly
standard now-a-days on supplies above 500W.
2nd efforts are sometimes better...
