I think that Steve is correct, put a known cap across the coil. If you want
painless measurements buy a AADE L/C meter IIB
http://www.aade.com/lcmeter.htm . These little meters give excellent results
and I have found the combination of this meter and the MFJ259 to be
indispensable.
