Comments:
Ten Tec Jupiter (see below) & Yaesu FT-857D @100 wts to G5RV (80M/40M) and
Cushcraft MA5V vertical (20M/15M).
Tough going on 15M and 20M early on.
Luckily - I popped down to 40M and had QSO with Dave, N3BUO, who took the time
to let me know that my 40M audio from TT Jupiter had issues.
Switched to my Yaesu FT-857D and continued - but generally disappointed with
band conditions.
Late in the evening got back on and 20M, 40M, and 80M were doing pretty well.
Made 70% of my QSOs in the last 2 hrs (total time was 5 hrs)!
I love this contest (and the other NAQP contests) because the operators that I
worked were very courteous and friendly. I'm primarily a CW operator, so nice
to hear peoples' voices!
Thanks and 73,
Andy - WA5RML
