Comments:
FT-857D @100W to vertical (20M-10M) and G5RV (80M/40M).
Was going to run QRP, but propagation was poor on 20M and almost non-existent
on 15M and 10M (at my QTH and with my antennas). I ran 100 watts instead to
make the contest less painful for the other operators!
Still seemed like I was "running against the wind".
It was a good experience, though. It has given me some issues to consider
before the contest season gets going, including: (1) Better antennas and (2)
Should have used a mix of "run" and "S&P" rather than straight "S&P".
A big thanks to all of the other operators. The NAQP contests seem to bring
out the best in contesting - lots of courtesy and patience when copy is tough.
A really good group!
73,
Andy - WA5RML
