Conditions were in a word...YUCK! 10 and 15 have zeros on them. In the January
edition I had over 100 contacts on those two bands. Due to the poor conditions
decided to spend some family time and just played for awhile mostly Saturday
night. The lower bands were good. Considering the conditions I knew I would
fair better then. Also, when you turn the amp off for a 100 watt contest my
station is not as good. 15 meters was closed out in the afternoon. Around
0000Z I worked three stations from Asiatic Russia but nothing else from
stateside. Talk about fickle! I was happy to participate in the August
edition for the first time in several years. I normally had a public service
event schedule this same weekend but I am not involved with ARES anymore so I
now have more time to contest. First August NAQP since 2008. I have to get that
beam up for contest season if the conditions are going to continue to be this
fickle! Should be an interesting Fall season. Thanks for the QSOs. 73 from
Skippack, PA.
