Comments:
Another wild ride, and as usual the first 30 minutes seemed as long as the
remaining 3 1/2 hours. Signals and noise were both strong. 40 meters was tough
at first because every available station had a pileup. It took 8 or 10 tries
before I got my first 40 m QSO, but after a while it became my best band. 80
meters was at its summertime best/worst with strong signals but a lot of noise
bursts...lots of repeats asked and given on serial numbers. Even so my 80 m
rate beat the equivalent period on 20 and almost equaled 40. Overall I scored
about 10% better than last September. Could be the bands, but I'd prefer to
imagine that my skills got 10% bettter.
Station: K3 + 700 W amp, HF-2V & R-6000 verticals
