Comments:
Great conditions overall -- even a fair European opening on 10 meters Sunday
morning.
The 20-meter 3-stack of 204BAs on a 30-meter tower worked well to separate
signals coming in at various wave-angles. The high-angle combo of top and bottom
antennas and the single bottom often made western European and VE signals really
stand out from the crowd, or null out QRM from other stations near the
frequency.
The 40-meter 3-el HyGain yagi rotated fine the first few hours but when I moved
it south and then tried to bring it back on Europe (45 degrees heading), it
would only come back to due East. Took the spotlight out and it looked like a
2-meter yagi above it had tilted and snagged the 40-meter boom guy-wire support.
So the 40-meter stayed due East the rest of the weekend.
Late Saturday afternoon I had some S-9 line noise from the north on 20 and 15
meters. This must be a real noise generator since the only power lines that
direction are at least a mile away. No doubt lost some JA and other Asian Q's
while this persisted. Something else to track down.
