Comments:
I am a lid. Started with one radio on 20 and the other on 40. After the first
two QSO's I figured out I had a special name in the memories from last February.
Had to take time out to fix that, duh!
Just before 0300 I looked at the amp for the other radio and figured out why I
was getting beat out over and over again on 40...the amp was not on...I never
turned it on!
Then in the last 5 minutes, one of the shift keys locked up on the keyboard.
Could not get the computer to accept numbers! Finally got it going but N6MJ
suffered while I was fighting with it.
Oh, well. Activity was great and I had a lot of fun despite the
embarrassment.
Rate (Standard Form):
Z 80 40 20 TOT NET
0 0 0 100 100 100
1 0 32 49 81 181
2 0 54 22 76 257
3 57 33 4 94 351
The way I look at rate in the Sprint:
0000-0009 13 13 Stupidity: forgot to check the software setup.
0010-0019 30 17
0020-0029 48 18
0030-0039 65 17
0040-0049 82 17
0050-0059 100 18
0100-0109 117 17
0110-0119 132 15
0120-0129 145 13 Stupidity: weak on 40 - thought it was propagation, but
0130-0139 158 13 the 2nd amp was off - only running about 80w.
0140-0149 169 11
0150-0159 181 12
0200-0209 196 15 Still working guys on 20, or the overall rate would be worse!
0210-0219 209 13
0220-0229 219 10
0230-0239 230 11
0240-0249 243 13
0250-0259 257 14 Figured out the amp was off as I was getting ready to go to
80.
0300-0309 268 11 Bummed out--do I quit now?
0310-0319 286 12 Still bummed out even after finding KL7 on 20.
0320-0329 306 20 Time to get going if I'm going to finish.
0330-0339 323 17
0340-0349 340 17
0350-0359 351 11 Computer lockup!

Rumored: ME
Seems I found a lot of mults on the 2nd radio while trying to get things going
on 40m.
20 5el NE, 4el NW at 50/40, TS930/Alpha 76
40 2el NW, 2el NE at 165/70, FT-1000MP/Alpha 78 (for the last hour)
80 wires at 135', FT-1000D/Henry 3K
all at 1500W (except 40, which averaged about 600w)
I see a lot of new calls in the log -- hope you're all finding the CW Sprint as
much fun as I think it is!
Please note that you should not round-robin on the same frequency (remaining on
frequency to work the guy who worked your last QSO). You have to work someone
off frequency before coming back to a frequency you just finished using. A CQ
or getting beat out doesn't count.
Congrats to N2NT, W4PA, and especially, W4AN on some FB numbers!
