Comments:

When conditions go sour, use CW! This is the first RAC contest where I made more
QSO's on CW then on Phone. Of course, QRP merely magnifies the need for an
efficient mode. Strangely enough, CQ's were actually useful this time. I guess
that happens when conditions limit the number of targets on at a given time
giving selective skip.
Used an IC-706MKIIG, 5W into monoband yagis on 10/15/20, dipoles on 40/80/160.
52% CW, 48% Phone, 72% Canadians, 28% others, Average pts/QSO 8.4 compared to
6.7 running HP SOAB last year.
This may be a new QRP record for this contest depending upon other scores this
year and those of last year, alas not yet available.
Best ears award goes to Sam, VE5SF, who always came back immediately even
scoring a QSO on 160. Missed only three "heard but not worked" multipliers.
Thanks to all who stuck it out under such variable conditions and kept the
contest interesting and successful again even on a non-weekend! Congratulations
to all the participants.
