Also made a few contacts on 15 and 10 after the sun came up.
40 was poor here and summer QRN has arrived. Noise up and signals down makes
for slow going. Only worked six Zone 16 stations. The noise fell off about the
same time the JA's went into echo-mode, so the morning hours weren't much
better. But the new Cal-AV antennas have good pattern and compare very
favorably to the existing wire antennas, so that part of this year's work is
judged a success.
