Comments:
Fatigue killed me this year. I had a cold the week before and even though I
went to bed early all week, I mostly tossed and turned. I'm usually only a
zombie for a few hours each morning, but I was a zombie from about 4am Saturday
morning all the way until the very end of the contest. I slept about 4 hours
Saturday night and took a ton of 10 - 15 minute breaks throughout the entire
contest to maintain my sanity and consciousness.
Murphy only paid one visit. The switch on my SO2R audio mixer seized up on
Saturday afternoon. I just built it about six months ago, but luckly the old
one was still in the shack so no big deal.
The highlight of the contest was definitely working VQ9X on 80m long path
Sunday morning. I also had a great final hour with VU2PAI and TF8SM for double
mults (both way up around 14.110) and I moved BV2A and 3W2FM from 15 to 20 both
for double mults.
As always, thanks to Don W6EEN & XYL for being the greatest hosts on the
planet.
Better luck (and hopefully better health!) next year.
