Comments:

First SS from new station in Truckee, CA. Used brain-damaged SO2R setup -
manual antenna switching, manual filter switching on Rig 2, manual keying on
Rig 2, no rig-to-computer connections except CW keying for Rig 1, just an R5
vertical as a second antenna. Made 59 QSOs (5%) on Rig 2 according to trlog.
Very educational. Now I think I understand how I want it to work, at least on
CW.

Does anyone want to challenge me for high score per foot of boom? My only gain
antenna was a C4S on a 12 foot boom, so that works out to 14,338 points per
foot (Ppf). For comparison, I believe my two booms in Saratoga total about 40
feet
(est.), so my slightly higher total point score from last year works out to
only 4,420 Ppf (est.). Wow! I tripled my Ppf! This challenge is not open to
contestants without mechanically rotatable Yagi antennas because then I would
certainly lose to all the "infinite" Ppf's! ;-)
