A super THANK YOU to Larry, W2AX, for the use of his fantastic
station and hospitality. I was heading to his Vermont QTH to help him do some
work on an internet remote project, and thought the SS weekend
would be a good time to be there! I was right. I was thinking
of going SO/Unlimited, but heck, with a good signal you don't need
packet to get a sweep! As usual for the east coast, 80/40m were the
production bands. I was a little worried about my last two
sections, NL and PAC, but Gus, VO1MP called me while running.
I heard a PAC station calling in a VY1 pileup, told him to
QSY after his Q and that was the sweep. (Sweep by 11:30
am Sunday). Of course, I worked another 5 or 6 stations
in both sections after that! There was good representation
from all sections this contest. I was a bit frustrated to come so close to
the all time Vermont record, but those Qs get very slow
at the end of the contest. I took 3-1/2 hours off from 3-6:30 am and
the rest at the end of the contest. (had to drive back home!)
73,
-Gerry, W1VE/VE1RM
